How do I install the software?
There are two ways to install e-Mobile software products: install from desktop computer or install over the air.

To install from desktop computer, please make sure Blackberry Desktop Manager is installed on your desktop computer. 

Unzip the installation zip file to a folder on your computer.  Connect your Blackberry device to your computer using a data cable.

Launch Blackberry Desktop Manager, and double click  Application Loader? 

Follow the wizard and you will see a list of software on your Blackberry.  Click  Add button and browse to the directory where you unzipped the installation file. 

Highlight the .alx file and select Open and click Next.   The application will be installed on your Blackberry.  Connect your device with computer using a data cable.

How do I install directly from my phone?

If you wish to install over the air, please send us your purchase info and let us know the type of device you have, its OS. (From BB Options, choose About, you will see something like v4.xxx.)

I receive this error during installation "no additional applications designed for your device were found"?

If you receive "no additional applications designed for your device were found" error during installation, it is related to BlackBerry desktop manager on your computer not updated. You can download the latest from:
http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

Or you can install software over the air to bypass Blackberry Desktop Manager.

I receive this error during installation "Error starting xxx:Class'net.rim.device.api.ui.virtual Keyboard' not found found"?

It is likely that you purchased the version for Blackberry Storm devices.   Please send us your purchase info and let us know the type of device you have, its OS. (From BB Options, choose About, you will see something like v4.xxx.), we will exchange it for you.

Blackberry Theme
 

How do I install theme on to my device and I do I activate it?

The theme package contains folders corresponding to different devices.  Please find the one that best matches your device, then use BlackBerry desktop manager to load the .alx file in that folder.

After installation, choose BlackBerry Options on home screen, choose "Theme" from the list, and find the theme name, click it to actiavate.

I have installed the theme, but it is not activating.

Blackberry Storm

How do I get rid of the virtual Keyboard when I run your application?
 The problem is related to device compatibility setting.

  • Choose BlackBerry "Options", "Advanced Options", and select "Applications"
     
  • Select the application name.
     
  • Hit the BlackBerry Menu Key and select "Disable Compatibility Mode"
     
  • Power down your device, take the battery off.
e-Mobile Email
When I open email, email body is blank.
The application has two versions.  If you installed over the air, it is the version for 4.2 OS devices. Please download the desktop installation file, read readme.txt and install the correct version included in the package.  If you wish to install over the air, please contact us at:  support@e-mobilesoft.com  (Please make sure that you copy us on your purchase receipt and let us know your device OS.  You can tell device OS by selecting BB options/About)

How do I view email attachment?
Attachment is not supported in current version. We will implement this feature in future update release.

How do I delete multiple emails?
There are two ways to delete multiple emails.  You can select a date group, press menu key and choose "Delete prior" to delete all emails before this date.  Or you can select the emails you wish to delete and press "d" key, the email items will turn red, press "del" key or choose "Delete" from menu.

Can I delete emails from both handheld and mailbox?
According to RIM, this is not possible from third party software.

How do I set a meeting request reminder?
Open the meeting request email, then press menu key and choose "Add to calendar".

Does e-Mobile Today sync with Outlook?
The application gets data from BB native Calendar, tasks, email etc.  You can sync Outlook with Blackberry Calendar, tasks and in turn synchronizes e-Mobile Today.

Does e-Mobile Today support international lanugage?

The application menus and notifications such as "2 new emails today, 5 missed calls" etc will be in English.  The actual contents like contacts, appointments, emails, tasks etc will be from your device, they will be in device native language.

How do I add news, stock and weather to today screen?
News, stock and weather are enabled via e-Mobile Today expansion packs.  You can find their links by opening the Blackberry link on left menu bar of this site.

How do I change weather on today screen from default Houston, TX to my city?
Move focus to weather on today, press menu key and choose "Location".

How do I modify my current stock symbols?
Move focus to stock on today, press menu key and choose "Symbols".

I keep getting "Network error" on today screen.
This is related to device network setup.  There are several ways to address this.
  • Check device APN setting (see instructions below).
  • Select "Setting" menu from e-Mobile Today, find Network setting right and enter the following: deviceside=true

How do I set today as my home screen?
The application will show up automatically when you power on your device, if you accidentally exit the application, it will show up again when device is in idle mode (dark screen) for 1 minute. You can also press menu button from any place and select "Today" menu.

How do I exit today screen?
Select "BlackBerry Home Screen" menu from today or press the red phone button.

Where do I make phone call from today screen?
You can select contact from today screen (e-Mobile today Professional Edition), then press on contact's number or email to call or send email.
You can also press the green phone button and enter contact's phone number.

How do I expand or collapse different plug-ins on today screen?
Select the plug-in and press trackball.  Press back key will collapse the plug-in.  Alternatively, pressing space bar will expand and collapse plug-in.

How do I view my detailed appointment calendar?
Expand appointment plug-in, move focus to appointment detail area, press trackball, then select menu option such as weekly view or calendar. (e-Mobile Today Professional Edition)

For some reason, my calendar is not showing on today screen, how do I fix this?
To restore back to Blackberry default calendar:

1.In the device options, click Advanced Options.

2.Click Default Services.

3.Change the Calendar (CICAL) field.

4.Press the Menu key.

5.Click Save.

6.Restart your device by powering down your phone and taking battery off.

When I try to create new task or appointment from today screen, my device locks up?
Please try this: From "Option", choose "Advanced Options", then select "Applications". Locate the application name and choose "Edit Permission" menu. Set all options to "Allow". Power down your device and take battery off.

How do I view multiple emails on today screen?
Double check your device internet email setup.   Click "Service book" and choose "Send Service book".

How do I access other applications from Today?
You will need to choose "Switch applications" menu from today to locate other applications.  You can also assign hotkeys to other applications.

This is related to device network setup.  There are several ways to address this.

How to set up a missed call alert?
Here is a simple walk through to set up a missed call alert:

From the front page, select "Phone" button:
1. Choose Apply to all incoming/missed call step 1

2. Press the trackball, and select "ringtone only" Step 2

3. Select a ringtone from ringtone list. Step 3

4. Press the trackball and select "Save" from menu.

Now if you call from another phone, you should hear the ringtone from your Blackberry once you hang up the calling phone.  This is a missed call alert.

 
Device APN

Select Blackberry "Option", then "Advanced Options", and open "TCP", check your APN settings. It might be blank.

To configure if your carrier is T-Mobile or Cingular:
For T-Mobile users, enter the following:
APN: wap.voicestream.com
Leave Username and Password blank

For Cingular users, enter the following:
APN: wap.cingular
Username: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1

(Note: All of the above values are case sensitive.)

Return to the main screen and select Options. Next, select Security Options, then Firewall. Click the thumbwheel and select Reset Settings.
